The requirement management is a DATPA process (as mentioned in the title). But what does this abbreviation stands for? Mentioning the actual meaning of these alphabets here:

Hence, requirement management can be explained as the process or method of documenting, analysing, and tracing, prioritizing and then agreeing to all the requirements. After these steps the next step involves controlling the changes and then transferring/ conveying it to the stakeholders.
The overview of requirement management
The main purpose of the requirement management is to satisfy the customers of an organization. It involves themselves in verifying the documents of the organization and keeping up with the expectations of the customers. This is a lengthy process that starts with analysis of the organizations objective. Requirements management softwares act as a support system of an organization. It helps the company to bring into line the practical needs during the time of upgrade process.
What does requirement management involve?
Requirement management includes two major aspects throughout the lifecycle of the project. These two major aspects are:
- Communication is possible between stakeholders and team members of the project
- Adjust to the required changes whenever needed
Traceability- how is it related to requirements management
Documenting the life of the requirement is what management traceability is concerned. Using this, implemented features can be tracked and then sent to those people who wanted it during the process of elicitation.
Requirement activities
There is a development process. The steps of the process are:
- Investigation: It is the first step and involves the gathering of the requirements.
- Feasibility: n the second step the determination of the cost of the requirements are done.
- Design: After the feasibility stage comes the designing stage. The main function is to compare the design and see that the work is under control.
- Construction and testing: In the fourth stage it is taken care that the cost remains under the scheduled budget.
- Requirements change management: This step takes care of the changes in the finished product.
- Release: This is the last point but not the last step. After this step the process again begins.
Requirements management softwares are required for defining properly the requirement. It even involves the cooperation of the organization. The software is a virtual concept and can’t do it all alone. The entry and choosing of the software is important.
