The Worst Tinder Dates Ever?

As the year draws to a close, many people will be reevaluating their lives and asking themselves the question – did I get what I wanted this year?

For avid online daters, the answer might vary, some will have met a significant other whilst others might still be looking.

It’s a fact that you have to kiss a few frogs before meeting “the one” but for some users of Tinder, the frogs have turned out to be far more frequent than they’d like!

Take TikTok user .lifeisahighway420 otherwise known as “Elle” who took a sneaky peek in her date’s bathroom cabinet and found strong evidence of a female in residence at the “bachelor pad”. The Tinder user posted about her finds on social media and if she was concerned to find a woman’s shampoo and a hairbrush with long hairs still attached, she was halfway out of the door when she found a pregnancy test!

Not a good sign!

Nobody wants to date someone who might have a pregnant partner or spouse!

Not all dates are this bad but some are worse! Take the Reddit user who had an intimate night with a date she’d met on Tinder only to have him get angry at her the next morning when he couldn’t find his sock!

The user went on to explain that the date’s car was towed away and she felt bad enough to pay for it even though she’d told him not to park in that spot!

It’s fun to laugh at some of these slightly silly adventures but sometimes bad Tinder dates can be frightening.

Here’s a selection – take these as a warning to be super-careful about who you meet up with.

Windscreen guy

“Once upon a time I went out with a guy who got wine drunk at Olive Garden and then in a drunken rage punched the windshield out of my car when I offered to drive him home because he was belligerent.”

Can’t read between the lines guy

“We met at a Starbucks and he kept bugging me to go on a “romantic walk” with him which had 2 problems. 1- he looked nothing like his profile, his photos were all at least 2 years old. 2- I didn’t want to walk anywhere in the dark with someone I had just met, that’s just self-preservation. Eventually he pushed the issue so much we decided to walk across the parking lot to Whole Foods when I joked “ha-ha don’t kill me in this dark parking lot” (as you do) and he proceeded to jokingly put his hands on my neck and fake strangle me.”

MLM woman

“Met a gal on Tinder. We seemed to have hit it off so I made the drive up to find out if we did have actual chemistry.

I pull up, we hug and before she goes to get in the car. She hoists this duffle bag out of her trunk and off handedly mentions she needed to drop this off at a friend’s place before dinner and if I minded driving. No, of course not, hop in.

We get to said friends’ and get invited inside. Turns out my ‘date’ sells scentsy oils, candles and shit and her friend is not really a friend but a client.

They sat there smelling samples for 90 minutes!!!!! I pulled her aside and told her I thought this was inconsiderate and extremely rude. She said her time was valuable and I needed to understand her “career.” I responded that my time is valuable as well and between drive time and her sales call she’s wasted 3.5 hrs of my life and walked out. Hit the In n’ Out before getting back on the highway and driving home.”

The best advice for most of these is to go with instinct and don’t go to stranger’s homes when you’re on a first date.

Keep yourself safe and date sensible – in public spaces only!

People not being who they seem to be is common in online dating and it also seems to be common in the executives attached to these hugely successful businesses.

Let’s look at Sean Rad, one-time CEO of Tinder for example. Rad recently won a huge payout in an out-of-court settlement from Tinder after a high-octane trial that lasted weeks.

Rad’s win is a surprise to some and especially when we consider that he lost his position as CEO of Tinder due to his own poor behaviour and that more recently, he was caught out trying to secretly record staff at the dating app’s offices in an attempt to get more evidence for his trial.

He was also reported to have bribed a witness to the tune of 2 million dollars!

Rad’s reputation hasn’t been too rosy since he left Tinder though. Given to sharing too much information in interviews and making derogatory comments about various people, Rad’s win in the settlement might at last signal the end of his various tangles with the dating giant Match Group!
